From 2023 until 2025, I had the honor of supporting Blue Origin as the senior XR program manager supporting the re-usable heavy-lift rocket New Glenn and the manufacturing of Blue’s Lunar Lander MK1 and MK2. In this role, I directly oversaw the build of HTC Vive focused VR labs at Rocket Park, LC-36, and the Magellan Lunar Facility. In support of this, we also deployed a fleet of roughly 100 Microsoft Hololens headsets for AR supported work orders for avionics, tanks, and integration.
Our overall goal with investing in XR technology for space systems was to drive down time for decision making at the engineering level, decrease time to completion for technician work, and decrease reworks. Though I can’t share videos from my time within Blue, I can share the results:
